LEGO® Building Contests

Adventure awaits this August as the San Bernardino County Library invites builders of all ages to show off their creativity during The Great Outdoors: Build Your Adventure! LEGO® Building Contests.

Held at three library branches throughout the month of August, these family-friendly contests challenge participants to create original LEGO® masterpieces inspired by the beauty and excitement of the outdoors. From towering mountains and camping adventures to wildlife habitats, oceans, gardens, national parks, and imaginative outdoor landscapes, builders are encouraged to let their creativity shine.

Each event will feature hands-on fun for the whole family, including an interactive LEGO® play station hosted by Play-Well TEKnologies, exciting giveaways, and prizes awarded across multiple contest categories.

Contest Theme Ideas

Participants are encouraged to design original LEGO® creations inspired by outdoor adventures such as:

  • Camping and hiking
  • Mountains and national parks
  • Oceans, lakes, and rivers
  • Wildlife and nature

Builders are invited to unleash their creativity by designing an original LEGO® scene inspired by their favorite outdoor adventure. Whether it’s camping beneath the stars, hiking scenic trails, exploring majestic mountains, or discovering wildlife, creations should be built at home using personal LEGO® bricks—without adult assistance or pre-designed kits.

How to Enter

  • Check out 10 library items at your local San Bernardino County Branch Library and save your checkout receipt.
  • Complete the LEGO® Building Contest Registration Form below and upload your receipt.
  • Create your LEGO® build at home. Entries must be original and may not exceed 11 inches by 17 inches at the base and 2 feet in height.
  • Bring your completed creation to the library branch you selected during the designated drop-off period.

  • Entries are limited to 75 per participating branch and one entry per family.

All entries will be judged in four story-inspired categories at the end of each event. Awards will recognize creativity, originality, engineering, storytelling, and overall design.
