Good Deeds, Great Reads

The Fontana Lewis Library and Technology Center celebrated the launch of its Good Deeds Book Vending Machine on March 31, 2026, becoming the second San Bernardino County Library location to bring this innovative literacy initiative to young readers.

Through the program, children are recognized for positive participation in library programs and can earn opportunities to select a free book to keep. By making book ownership fun and rewarding, the initiative encourages reading while helping children build their own home libraries.

With every book selected, the program celebrates positive experiences at the library while encouraging children to read, learn and grow.
