Good Deeds, Great Reads

The San Bernardino County Library celebrated the launch of its first Good Deeds Book Vending Machine at the Chino Branch Library on Feb. 27, 2026, introducing a fun new way to recognize young readers for positive participation in library programs.

The first of its kind within the County Library system, the Book Vending Machine encourages children to practice kindness, participate in library activities and discover the joy of reading while earning free books to build their own home libraries.

By turning good deeds into good reads, the program helps make book ownership exciting while encouraging positive experiences at the library and fostering a lifelong love of reading.
